Copford CARE CONSULTANCY

How we work

A clear, supportive process from first call to final result

Every service is different, so we start by listening. Then we agree exactly what we’ll do, what it will cost and when, before any work begins.

Four simple steps

How working with us fits around you

  1. 1

    Free initial call

A relaxed, no-obligation conversation about your service, where you are now and what you want to achieve. No charge and no pressure.

  2. 2

    Review

We take time to understand your service properly. Depending on your needs, that may mean reviewing documents, visiting your service and talking with your team.

  3. 3

    Clear plan

Practical, prioritised recommendations in plain English, with timescales and costs agreed before any work begins.

  4. 4

    Ongoing support

We work alongside you to put changes in place, check progress and stay on hand as your service develops.

Mock inspections

What a mock inspection looks like

A mock inspection gives you a realistic, confidential view of how your service measures up, with time to act before the real thing.

More about mock inspections
  1. Before

    Agree the scope

We agree what the inspection will cover and request a few key documents in advance.

  2. On the day

    Review your service

We review records, observe practice and talk with your team, looking at each of the five key questions.

  3. After

    Report and action plan

Usually within 7 to 14 days, you receive a written report with clear findings and a prioritised action plan.

  4. Follow-up

    Close the gaps

If you’d like us to, we stay involved to help you put improvements in place.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the first conversation really free?

Yes. Your initial call is free and comes with no obligation. It’s a chance for us to understand your service, and for you to decide whether we’re the right fit.

How long does CQC registration take?

It varies depending on the type of service and how ready your application is. We’ll give you a realistic timeline at the start and help you avoid the common causes of delay.

Do we need a registered manager before we apply?

For most regulated activities, the CQC expects a registered manager to be in place, and they will usually be interviewed as part of the process. We can advise on what applies to your service.

How is a mock inspection different from a real one?

It follows the same key questions, but it’s confidential and designed to help you improve. Nothing is published, and you get a practical action plan to work from.

Can you help if we’ve already had a poor rating?

Yes. We help providers understand their report, respond to the findings and put a realistic improvement plan in place ahead of re-inspection.

Is our information kept confidential?

Yes. Everything you share with us, and everything we find, stays between us and your organisation.
